Compared to Wong Kar-Wai's other films I thought it was totally lifeless... Nora Jones sucked - bad. So did Jude Law. It was like there was no chemistry on set. Very weird. Compared to a film like Fallen Angels or Chungking express it just fell flat. I think some of it had to do with Khondji's photography - lots of old WKW tricks but with the clinical taste of Khondji's newer work. He's just so goddamn precise, whereas most of WKW's other work is loose, fast, musical. My two cents.
