Goodbye MySpace and Facebook!
As of today I'm hitting the road and saying goodbye to the towns of MySpace and Facebook...
Kind of.
I don't have the guts to completely delete my accounts, but I did remove most of my info and I won't really be checking them any more. Instead, I plan to use all the time I waste on these sites to make videos (the ones I always make in my head and tell Eve and Josh and Lissa about) and post them here.
Adios sitios del Diablo,

Video Archive, Vol.1 - January 2004
Since I have no current videos to post, I've decided to put these up. Nothing special. Just little videos shot on my photo camera in back in January 2004. They're also the first two videos I ever did.

WTF?
I just got back from dropping off some tapes at a transfer house on Newburry Street, and the oddest thing happened. I was leaving the fifth floor of the building, and when the door to the elevator opened there stood two very old men coming down from the sixth floor (the top). Now here's what caught me off guard... They both had white goatees, small straw hats and canes -not to mention the kind of clothes you would imagine accompanying those things.
Because I had my headphones on I could only slightly make out what they were talking about, but the two things I heard them say (in British accents!) were "Nineteenth Century" and "Roosevelt."
My only theory is that the top floor of that brownstone is some kind of Explorers club or English Gentlemens club.

1 Rainy day + 3 Hours + 1 Basset =
Edicción
This was my final video after three months in Cuba. After writing about 15 versions of my original script, one of the actresses left unannounced on a raft for Miami, then another actor was hired to perform for a festival across the island. This, along with my extreme procrastination, left me with about 48 hours to make something. So, I trashed the original idea and went with this one.
This short video profiles a day in the life (with a few minor alterations) of Nelson Rodriguez, a Cuban film editor who was also my tutor. It plays on the idea of how memory is in a way like film. We don't remember our days or weeks or years as one constant stream of events, but rather as certain moments spliced together like the shots and scenes that make up a movie.

Welcome to the Sunset Donkey Video Blog!
I just made this site and I'm still figuring out how to post my videos. But once I've got that worked out I'll be posting things like music videos, short fiction and experimental pieces. So check back in a day or two and hopefully there will be something to watch.
